      • About Us:
        Salvo Grima Group operates in eight countries in Europe and Africa, specialising in international trade and travel retail. We supply and operate several Travel Retail Duty-Free outlets at international airports and cruise ports across the Mediterranean region, including airports in Algiers and other locations in North Algeria. Our product range includes skincare, tobaccos, liquors, and more.
        **Role Summary:**Our Group is due to launch a new set of duty-free outlets at airports in Algeria and therefore requires a strategic Customs & Operations Officer. The ideal candidate would be a highly organisational individual with innate negotiation skills. The ability to work additional or flexible hours and to travel to other locations in Algeria at short notice is essential.
        Key ResponsibilitiesBe the main point of contact with local and international customs authorities.
        • Manage, monitor, and report on the performance of logistics agents, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
        • Ensure compliance with customs regulations for the movement of goods and stay updated on relevant legislation.
        • Coordinate transportation via road, sea, or air and liaise with the General Directorate of Customs or consolidation platforms.
        • Maintain accurate documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and airway bills, ensuring they meet country-specific requirements.
        • Regularly check traffic codes compliance and report any issues to management.
    Skills and QualificationsStrong communication and relationship management skills with regulatory bodies.
    • Experience in vendor management and performance tracking.
    • In-depth knowledge of customs laws, import/export regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Transport & Warehousing background and knowledge of custom legislation.
    • Attention to detail and familiarity with customs documentation and trade compliance software.
    • Knowledge of multimodal transportation logistics and customs clearance processes.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret regulatory frameworks and identify compliance risks.
    • At least 2 years of solid experience in a similar line of work.
    • Fluency in English, Arabic and French;
    • A clean police conduct.
    • Be comfortable to work in an industry where tobaccos and liquors are involved.
